Rape Crisis: Regional Network EastCrisis Centres in the East of England
Rape Crisis
www.rapecrisis.org.uk
Rape Crisis groups within the Eastern Region vary in their shape and size so sometimes finding a centre that is in your area may be difficult. Rape Crisis offers a safe environment where women and girls can talk freely without being judged. The majority of Rape Crisis groups provide a telephone helpline service for women and girls who are survivors of rape, child sexual abuse, sexual harassment or any form of sexual violence. You can contact any of the help lines to talk to someone and they will support you in finding out what is available in your area. CambridgeshireCambridge Rape Crisis Centre (CRCC)Women and girls only
We offer a confidential telephone service of support and information to survivors of rape, childhood sexual abuse and other forms of sexual violence. Our volunteers will listen to what you have to say and help you to find ways to express difficult feeling and situations. We do not make judgements about the women who use our service nor do we tell them what to do. We aim to give women a space to talk about their own issues at their own pace. We do not currently have facilities to offer face-to-face meetings although this is something that we hope to offer in the future. We offer extensive volunteer training at least twice a year, and do outreach work to local GUM clinics, the police, counselling services, universities etc. We are part of the Cambridge women's coalition.
